George is the only quartet member with no relatives who sing barbershop. He overcame that hurdle and started singing barbershop in 1987, promptly joining a quartet and has rarely been without one since, singing both lead and (mostly) baritone. He joined the Nashua Granite Statesmen in 1988 and has sung in Easy Reach (with John) and Breakaway as well as several chapter quartets.

George lives in Falmouth, Maine with barbershop fan Julie Waterman. His interests outside of singing include kayaking (whitewater and sea), backpacking, skiing, and just about any outdoor adventure.

In his day job, George is a software engineer, designing and writing software (he's a baritone, after all).
